Belly Dance Summer School: Netherlands, August 2019
Expand your horizons with Belly Dance Summer School: “The Voices of Egypt” in August 2019! 🌞
Are you looking for a chance to truly deepen your understanding of Egyptian music and culture?
Want to know what all the fuss about Oum Kalthoum is? Want to improve your musciality? Want to bring more emotion and presence to your dance? This is the course for you!
Here’s the chance to step out of the regular belly dance class routine and focus on some special topics to accelerate your knowledge of belly dance and its context, history and associated culture!
For the 2019 edition of Belly Dance Summer School, we’ll be focusing on The Voices of Egypt. You’ll get a chance to delve deeper into the music of Egyptian greats such as Oum Khalthoum, Abdel Halim Hafez, as well as singers who made their careers in Egypt such as Algerian singer Warda. With listening and musicality exercises, lyrical translation and interpretation, as well as choreography and improvisational exercises, get ready to take your Egyptian dance and music knowledge to the next level!
Classes will take place in August 2019 and are aimed at dancers who already have experience in belly dance (please enquire if you are unsure about your level).
Each class last 90 minutes (6 hours of tuition over the full course).

Join Siobhan of Greenstone Belly Dance for three 90-minute intermediate-advanced belly dance classes in the heart of Christchurch City in April 2019. Aimed at the dancer who wants to challenge themself, Siobhan will be teaching essential skills and technique from her own private practice (you get to work on what’s challenging her, too!), as well as drills and strengthening exercises, and current combinations or sections of choreography to pull it all together (including a section of an advanced-level drum solo, a lyrical Egyptian piece, and whatever else Siobhan’s heart desires!).
Come prepared to move, sweat, ask questions and grow. See you there!
